Solécru: Quality making. Honest living.

Our story

A house for plain days.

Sol, the sun. Écru, undyed. Cru, raw and chosen. In Chinese, 素日: plain days. Solécru is a house of brands for the everyday, held to one standard.

The idea

素 and 日.

素 means plain: undyed cloth, unadorned paper, the thing as it is. 日 means day. Together they describe the days most of life is made of.

Plain is not poor

A good material needs little decoration. We let glassine, kraft and clear film look like what they are.

Small things, made well

A bag or an envelope is a small part of a gift or a bake. It should still be the right size, the right count and the right colour.

Honest by default

We describe what a product is and what it is for, and we do not claim what we cannot show.

Everyday rituals

Baking for friends, wrapping a present, keeping a letter: we make the papers and bags for these moments.

The house

One standard, several brands.

Solécru is the house. Each brand in it has its own job and its own look, and all of them are made and sold the same way.

Our standard

Quality making. Honest living.

Plain materials, named plainly

Glassine is glassine; wax is wax. We say what each material is and what it is for.

Sizes you can trust

Every size is listed in inches and centimetres, with a guide to what fits.

Fewer, better colours

A palette that repeats across bags, envelopes and finishing touches, so pieces match.

Honest listings

What you see is what arrives: real photos, real counts, real sizes.

Who makes it

Run by the people who use it.

Solécru is run from Hong Kong by a small team that develops, checks and lists every product itself. A product joins the range only when it does one job well and can be described plainly.
